Serving Addiewell Oil Works

A short-lived mine following the seam of Grey Shale from its outcrop. The workings appear to link underground to those of Addiewell No. 3 Mine.

Little trace remained of the surface features when mapped by the Ordnance Survey in c.1893.

See "Mines and pits in the Addiewell area" for further background.
