Miller Thompson Henderson & Co. Deposition records the sum of £150 (Sterling) paid by John Stevenson Hutchison, a retired carpet weaver, to purchase the Lawhead Croft at Tarbrax, lying in the Parish of Carnwath and County of Lanark. Deposition mentions a specific point A marked on a plan, but no plan is attached to the deposition. It covers all of the elements included in the sale such as the dwellling house, and other whole buildings but with exception of the rights to any coal, ironstone, fireclay, marl, shale and limestone and all mines, metals, minerals and stone or every description which may be found in or under the plot of land involved in the sale. The rights of these will be retained by Scottish Oils Limited. John Stevenson Hutchison is also required to pay an annual fee of £1 to Scottish Oil Limited for his water supply, which will not be guaranteed. The deposition is marked to be signed by W. A condition of the let is that the company brass band is able to practice in the small hall one or two nights a week, free of charge, when the hall is not otherwise engaged. Document refers to damage that was caused to property at Church Street and Tacoma Place and also areas of ground in the Village of Broxburn amounting to five hundred and fourteen decimal or one thousandth parts of an acre or thereby Imperial Measure by The Broxburn Oil Company Limited's mineral operations. The document is looking for an amicable settlement without the Company having to admit liability. Typed document, dated 29th November, 1929.

The plan shows in red and yellow the links from the railway to the oil refineries and also has a hand drawn basic map of the whole area at the top, giving a clearer view of the impact this would have on the railways on a wider scale. The scale is 1inch=100ft. "this is plan number two referred to in and signed as relative to the foregoing agreement between the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company and Scottish Oils Limited dated 4th and 3rd November 1938." The plan shows in red the proposed changes to the railways to allow a link to the oil refineries docks. The shale is 1inch=100ft.     Agreement between The Broxburn Oil Company and the North British Railway Company Limited concerning 4 inch section pipe, Union Canal for supply of water for Roman Camp dated 29th April 1905. Original letter from North British Railway Company amongst board papers, minute number 1248-1260. Agreements consists of an exchange of correspondence listing the terms and conditions of the agreement and the cost of rent, £35 per annum, and the exact location that The Broxburn Oil Company had proposed to lay their pipe, 'under the Drumshoreland Branch Railway at the level crossing immediately south of the Cawburn, and also to allow the pipe to lie in the bottom of the Culvert of the Cawburn under the Bathgate Railway opposite to Rough's Chemical Works at the level crossing gates.' The letter dated 9th May 1905 mentions a tracing which shows the water pipe line from the Canal to the Roman Camp Works - this is not attached to the agreement or correspondence. All correspondence is type written documents and dates between 29th April to 2nd June 1905.

Agreement discusses the leasing of land at No. 1 Jetty, Eastern Channel, Grangemouth Docks, at the cost of three pounds sixteen shillings and six pence, sterling, per annum. Typed document. Includes a plan titled, "Scottish Olis LTD, Grangemouth Plan showing site proposed kitchen for crews quarters at Jetty." Area coloured red = 188 sq.yds. or thereby. This is the plan referred to in the attached Agreement dated ... relating to 188 square yards of land at No. 1 Jetty, Eastern Channel, Grangemouth Docks. For and on behalf of Scottish Oils Limited. Scale 1/500. An attached letter dated 27th November 1964 discusses the increase in the rent for this ground used for kitchen and crew quarters going up to £33 per annum from 1965 onwards. The final piece of documentation is from the Bristish Transport Commission in relation to the Valuation and Rating (Scotland) Act, 1956 which serves as a notice of the amount of Owners' Rates payable in 1956-57 and of the effect of the Third Schedule to the Act and shows a decrease in rent for this land in the year 1957-58.
