Description
Agreement between The Broxburn Oil Company and the North British Railway Company Limited concerning 4 inch section pipe, Union Canal for supply of water for Roman Camp dated 29th April 1905. Original letter from North British Railway Company amongst board papers, minute number 1248-1260. Agreements consists of an exchange of correspondence listing the terms and conditions of the agreement and the cost of rent, £35 per annum, and the exact location that The Broxburn Oil Company had proposed to lay their pipe, 'under the Drumshoreland Branch Railway at the level crossing immediately south of the Cawburn, and also to allow the pipe to lie in the bottom of the Culvert of the Cawburn under the Bathgate Railway opposite to Rough's Chemical Works at the level crossing gates.' The letter dated 9th May 1905 mentions a tracing which shows the water pipe line from the Canal to the Roman Camp Works - this is not attached to the agreement or correspondence. All correspondence is type written documents and dates between 29th April to 2nd June 1905.
