E. Grafton (c.1861-?)

RETIRAL OF MR. E. GRAFTON, ABERDEEN.

It was reported that arrangements had been made for the retiral from active service , owing to advancing years, of Mr. E. Grafton, Branch Manager with lhe Scottish Oil Agency, Ltd., at Aberdeen. Mr. Grafton is now in his 70th year and for the long period of 49 years has been in the service of the Scottish Mineral Oil Trade. He joined Young's Paraffin Light & Mineral Oil Co., in 1882 and after serving them in various capacities was, in 1906, appointed their Branch Manager at Aberdeen. On his services being t aken over by The Scottish Oil Agency, Ltd., in April, 1920, he continued to act as their Branch Manager in the Aberdeen area. He has at all times carried out his duties in a most efficient manner, and in consideration thereof it was agreed that Young's Paraffin Light & Mineral Oil Co.Ltd., in whose employment he had served for the greater part of the period, should be asked to grant him an ex gratia retiring allowance at the rate of £220 per annum during the pleasure of the Board. It was estimated that this allowance, along with his interest in the Anglo-Persian Provident Fund Trust, assuming that he is granted the full benefits of the "C" Account, would give him a total of slightly over £300 per annum.
