Description

B&W negative copied in 1990 from official albums then held at Grangemouth refinery.

This view show a mixer, conveyer, and brick press at Pumpherston. Bricks were made of pulverised spent shale mixed in a pan mill with hydrated lime and lime slurry which was then moulded to shape in a brick press, then heated under pressure in steam autoclaves.
