Promoting the Shale Industry

In the 19th and early-20th centuries International Exhibitions and World’s Fairs, on a grand scale, grew incredibly popular, buoyed by the inventions of the industrial age. It was widely felt that the 1893 Columbian Exposition at Chicago would not surpass the wonders of the Paris event of 1889. In the end it equaled and then far surpassed anything that had gone before.
