The firm of Edwin Middleton is not included in the 1865 coal commission report but is listed in the 1868 Slater's trade directory as operating works at Hope Station.
Edwin Middleton was one of the partners of Horner, Middleton & Co., operators of the Cambrian Oil Works in 1867
