Snibbler

Presumably a person employed to control the movement of hutches (narrow-gauge railway wagons), either within the mine, around the works or in tipping waste on the bing. A snibble was an iron bar with a loop handle that was inserted between the spokes of a hutch wheel as a parking brake.
